KABUL, April 17 (Xinhua) -- The counter-narcotics police have discovered 12.5 kg of opium poppy and arrested three individuals on the charge of involvement in the drug business in the northern Afghanistan Badakhshan province, a news release of the provincial police office said Thursday.
The trio, all Afghan nationals, were attempting to take the contraband out of Badakhshan province and have been taken into police custody for investigation, the news release added without offering more information.
